FABRI-BASTE
Fabri-Baste is a non-woven tracing fabric/embroidery backing. Fabri-Baste is ideal
for tracing patterns, especially multi-sized patterns and double-sided pattern sheets.
This backing is lightweight, highly translucent and tear resistant.
This versatile product can also double up as cutaway embroidery backing and
because of the qualities this product has of strength and minimal weight it makes an ideal alternative to tear-away backing for difficult fabrics. This product is also ideal
for applique.

TEAR-AWAY EMBROIDERY BACKING
This very versatile backing is an essential item for all machine embroiderers. This
stabilizer is used for stable fabrics. Hoop the fabric with the stabilizer being careful
not to stretch the fabric. If the design to be embroidered is particularly dense, use
two layers. If you slip the second layer under the hoop before starting to sew, the
first few stitches will hold this layer in place eliminating the need to hoop two layers.

WATER SOLUBLE STABILIZER/TOPPING
Cold water soluble stabilizer such as Aquafilm is also an essential item for the machine
embroiderer. Placed on top of the fabric to be embroidered it gives perfect results on
fabric such as towelling, jersey and any other fabric that is either open-weave or has
a pile. When embroidering fabrics that are likely to be marked with a hoop impression,
it is often better to hoop one or two layers of Aquafilm, spray the Aquafilm with a
temporary adhesive (Stick-with-it), then lay the fabric to be embroidered on top. The
combination of the temporary adhesive and the film being water soluble and therefore
becoming tacky enables the fabric to stay in place, and, of course, no hoop marks.
