Multi pocketed Tote Bag
During this one day workshop Mary-Louise will guide you through the various steps and process that will enable you to create your own Tote bag with a variety of pocket styles and sizes to suit your requirements.
A core pattern will be provided that will allow you some flexibility over the final design aspects of it.
Specific making techniques that will be covered are
Laying out the pattern and cutting the different fabrics used.
The use of fusible interfacing.
A simple method of creating a shaped bottom to the bag.
Making and attaching flat pockets, three dimensional pockets and zipped pockets..
Inserting a lining.
You will need
1.25 of 150cm wide medium weight fabrics such as canvas, wool, wool blends, denim, corduroy or synthetic suede.
1m of 150cm wide cotton fabric for lining.
50cm of 46cm wide medium weight fusible interfacing
Zip min length 18cm max length 35cm (they can be cut to the length you decide upon on the day.
Matching and/or contrast machine thread.
A basic sewing kit.
