Pattern Cutting with Mary-Louise 2 day course – July
July 26 @ 10:00 am - 4:00 pm
Imagine if you could make the perfect dressmaking pattern, tailored to your own measurements, now is your chance!
Using your own measurements for hip, waist and bust Mary-Louise will be teaching you how to take a standard size block and adapt it to fit your shape. Any fit issues that you currently find with purchased garments or dressmaking patterns will be studied to learn what changes to make. These changes would then become standard changes that you can apply to any future dressmaking project. You will make style changes to your block, possibilities include moving the location of a dart, changing pleats, gathers, seamlines or a dart into a tuck. This will show you how the results and process can be used with commercial patterns. All will depend on the complexity of any fit issues and time constraints.
You will require 3 to 4 metres of medium weight calico (available in store) and a simple sewing kit. This class is not for complete beginners.
Note: This is a two day class, please book on the 25 July 2019 event.
Tea and coffee will be in plentiful supply.
